Puerperal
Psychosis
Another
form of depression is puerperal psychosis,
which affects between 1 and 2 mums in every
1000 and usually begins soon after childbirth.
The mother cannot hide it and she usually
experiences delusions and distortions of
reality. Some women hallucinate, some have
manic depression or bi-polar illness. This
illness needs medical treatment.
Signs
of Puerperal Psychosis
The
mother starts behaving in a way that other
relatives see as odd - soon after the birth:-
