Hearing Impairments
British Sign Language (BSL) is a language of signs, gesture, and expression, that is used primarily as a communication method for people with hearing impairments in the UK.
Not only is this software great for Deaf people as a BSL resource but also a resource to be used by anybody who may come into contact with a BSL user, or anybody who is interested in this diverse language. Used by families and friends of BSL users this software can really help to overcome what can often be difficult communication barriers.
Within a family situation this software can be used by everybody to help with the communication to a family member who uses BSL. The software is designed in such a way that young children can use it unaccompanied, helping to build an interest in BSL from a very young age.
Friends of BSL users will also find this software useful for learning some signs that can be used to help with conversation, and minimising some of the miscommunication that can so often occur between Deaf and hearing people.
